La Colle Gîte Galileo and The Main House

We stayed at Galileo
La Colle for 3 weeks in August and had a great time including our
(almost) 2 year old toddler. The swimming pool was fantastic and by the
end of week 1, Eli was happy to swim by himself around the pool and by
week 2 was jumping in. The amount of space to run around and play 'footie'
in was also a real bonus. Before we arrived I had been a little
concerned about how suitable the gite would be for a toddler (last
year's holiday home provided nothing so we had to travel with a cot,
travel high chair etc etc) but I was really very happy with all the
equipment at the Gite. There was a proper cot with mattress and sheets
provided, a high chair, bath mat, plastic beakers and bowls and even
cuddly toys, children's books, DVD player and a trike which Eli loved.
We didn't need it but a baby bath and changing mat were also available.
It all just made the holiday much easier and we really appreciated

This is the second 3 week stay for us at beautiful La Colle in 2

Well the trip up the mountain has been quite an adventure. We
have so enjoyed “driving into the picture”, and have found ourselves
looking forward to arriving home each night from a day of touring. This

Enjoyed a truly different and special weeks holiday here.
Found the early morning sunrise through the bedroom windows quite

As the first group to stay for four weeks, I would have to say
that it was well worth it! And we were struck, time & again by the
incredible beauty & peace of this place. We have just had a
basically fabulous time, and we want to thank you for providing us with

Our first time in Provence but definitely not our last. The sun
shinned all week – the kids were the first to break the ice in the

If you look closely, you can see the middle of nowhere just beyond
this house. Isn’t it great! We had a wonderful week exploring the
countryside. Highlights included soaring over Sisteron in a glider and
walking the track to Sigonce. We are convinced there is no “best”
spot or top ten list of places to be visited. Provence is more of a way
of life. Enjoy the slow easy rhythm and you will enjoy Provence. And a
few words about La Colle & Gîte Galileo It’s well appointed, Rods
advice on places to go was dead-on. We’d recommend Galileo to our

Had a wonderful relaxing time. Waking up to wonderful views was
really lovely. Plenty of beautiful places to visit. A great choice for

Thank you for a very nice week in this beautiful setting. What a
view! We loved the nice house, so well equipped especially for children.
We recommend the following sites in the area: Forcalquier market,
Sisteron castle/citadel, Lac de Ste Croix. There are so many more things
to see, but the above mentioned surprised us. Michelin yellow map 81 is

We had a wonderful holiday. A welcome two weeks of hot weather
with a swimming pool to refresh ourselves, was a real delight. In
addition to all the other things to do we found a beautiful
waterfall/river with some amazing rock pools to swim in, which the

We wondered what we were coming to as we drove down the track,
but on arrival, we saw the sky at night – magic! Then the sunrise –
spectacular! The views – breath-taking! Even though we visited places
of interest, we were just as happy to stay at La Colle. Thank you very

We totally fell in love with gîte Galileo & La Colle.
Tranquil, relaxing, beautiful sunsets, stunning scenery – it had it
all. We felt as though we had really ‘stepped into the picture’ of
rural France – we loved it!. We had an amazing holiday here – and

The girls have enjoyed the pool very much. The setting is
wonderfully peaceful. The gîte is very spacious & comfortable. A

What an adventure in the wilds of Provence. The country is beautiful,
the little restaurants, markets & the friendly people. Each night
when we returned it was like coming home. You were both most helpful
